Matthew Marteinsson has been at this game audio thing for awhile now. He started out recording music just as big studios and tape machines were becoming harder and harder to keep afloat. Seeing the major changes in that industry he decided to also make a major change. After doing a short stop in QA, 2003 marked the switch to game audio full time and he never looked back. With over 4 years spent making AAA games at EA and another 4 being a freelancer, he landed his current home at Klei Entertainment. At Klei he’s been through the audio department growing from a single member to a team 5 people turning out high quality creative audio in an ever increasing diversity of games. Along with his work at Klei, Matthew does talks for the game audio community, co-hosts a podcast and organizes local meetups.
Some of his video game credits to date include: Shank 2, Mark of the Ninja, Don’t Starve/Don’t Starve Together and Invisible, Inc.
You can listen to his podcast, “Beards, Cats and Indie Game Audio,” here.
